Activities
The EcoSMEnergy Project aims at enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability in SMEs across key industrial sectors, including chemical manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, rubber and plastic products, metal products, electronics, electrical equipment, machinery, and automotive manufacturing. Companies of these sectors in Cyprus, Estonia, France, Latvia, Malta and Spain will be in the focus of the project including audits at selected companies and capacity building for companies. It offers workshops, webinars, and a knowledge platform on energy efficiency, along with expert assistance to guide companies in improving their energy performance. It starts with a scoping study to better understand the energy efficiency status of targeted sectors. The projects also aim at helping SMEs access public incentives and private financing.
Over the course of three years, the project aims to enhance energy efficiency capacity within SMEs through a range of initiatives, including webinars, self-assessment tools, and guidance on accessing finance.
A scoping study will be conducted to identify the baseline energy consumption and awareness level of companies as well as effective energy efficiency measures tailored to each targeted sector. Additionally, a self-assessment option will be available to companies via the energy efficiency knowledge platform.
Beyond technical assistance, the project will also help companies identify suitable funding opportunities in each country. The platform’s financial section will feature a tool that matches businesses with customized funding options aligned with their energy efficiency projects.
